"Cow Appreciation Day 2014" at Chick-Fil-A...July 11!

For the last couple of years, the kids and I have been participating in the "Cow Appreciation Day" at Chick-Fil-A.
My kids love to dress up and this is a great activity/event for the whole family to participate.

You can read about our Cow Appreciation Day 2012 HERE and 2013 HERE

As always, we use what we have so our "FREE" meal is actually "FREE" !

This year, this is what we are using:

We are using the shirts me made in 2012 (Read HERE). This is going to be the last year my kids will be able to wear them. It really helped to have had big shirts for them then so they could wear them a few times :)

The templates I made in 2012 (you can find them in the 2012 post HERE or download HERE) to attach spots to the shorts. We are just attaching them with tape :)

We are using the signs we made last year (Read HERE)

Picture on the right is to show you our finished ears and shorts :)

NEW this year...

We are going to wear our cow watches from the kids meals in 2013 and also, my kids will color their noises black :) I am using just black eye shadow for this.

Making our costumes is always such a great summer craft activity!

We always have fun getting our Cow costumes ready!

Chick-Fil-A see you this Friday!!!

Let's see what we'll do next year! :)

Do you like to participate by dressing up for "Cow Appreciation Day"?

I have a new computer! Now, I don't ...

Well, it has been a while (almost a year) since I posted anything. There is a reason for that. The last post I did was letting people know that we were moving. Well, we did! We moved about 10 miles from where we were before. It was a good move overall.

COMPUTER PROBLEMS...

A few days later, after we settled, my 6 year-old pretty pink laptop crashed. I was so sad. Thankfully I had done a back up fairly recently, so I don't think I lost much.

Knowing that I was going to have to save money for a new one, I did not make a big deal. I was being patient. I knew I was going to get "something" since Christmas was around the corner.

My husband has always given me nice Christmas gifts so... I got a brand new top-of-the-line laptop for Christmas!!! I was so happy I got a new laptop.

THEN...

I decided to take it with me while we visited my mom. On our way back, after my husband was off of work, we all met my sister for dinner at the restaurant of my choice! Well, the food took foreeeeveeer to come out. So it took a good 2.5 hrs to get our tacos! Then, we finished our meals and headed out to the van.

While heading to the van, my sister noticed that the back windows were down. Well, you can imagine... the windows were not down, they were BROKEN!!! Someone had broken into the van!!! Someone had stolen my brand new laptop!!!  Not only that, but my husband's and kid's stuff. It was an awesome deal for whoever took all of our stuff.

It made me angry, super sad, super mad and all of the above!!! It really put me in a horrible mood for a long time. I felt disappointment and responsible for it. It is so unfair that anyone could have the thought of stealing from others, go through with it, and get away with it! I hoped, for a little while, that the police would get our stuff back, but we never heard anything about it. I gave up on that.

This whole thing left a horrible feeling in me. I had not wanted to think about anything that has to do with technology until recently.

LESSON LEARNED...

This event was just a reminder of a few things:

1. God is in control! He knows everything and everything happens for a reason. We are glad no one in our family got hurt.

2. Material stuff is just that... stuff. This can be replaced...slowly, but is possible!

3. The enemy will take your joy, if you let him. Praising God for everything will defeat the enemy's purpose. Therefore, if you praise God, nothing will take away the joy we find in Him!

4. Never leave you laptop in the car!!!

5. I still had my iPhone to use as an ok replacement in the mean time. So, I was still able to do some of the things I did with my laptop.

GOD IS GOOD!

So, the lesson of this event is that I will not let the enemy crush my spirit! I will continue to trust in God. He is my strength!

My sister was so kind to me that she found a way to give me her old computer, so I was only 3 days with out a laptop...See! God is in control! :) but it still took me this long to get inspired to post things again.

With all of this said...

Thanks for taking time to read my post.

If you have gone through this same thing...I am very sorry!
